Who is the Pro Jazz Pianist, Dean Stockdale?

Dean Stockdale is an acclaimed jazz pianist, composer and arranger based in the north of England. Known for his sensitive swinging style, he regularly appears at jazz clubs and festivals around the UK both as a leader and as accompanist to some of the best names in UK and international jazz. These include Emily Masser, Alan Barnes, David Newton, Gavin Barras, Gaz Hughes, Dean Masser, Mark Armstrong and Martin Shaw.

Dean has released 3 albums to critical acclaim, his most recent being a tribute to his biggest influence, Oscar Peterson.  This was followed by an extensive UK tour which also included dates in Ireland, Paris and Belgium. In July he performed a sold out concert at Buxton International Festival celebrating the centennial of Oscar Peterson with an all star line up, featuring new arrangements for strings. Other influences include Bill Evans, Gene Harris, Barry Harris and Fred Hersch.

Dean enjoyed a prestigious four year engagement as resident pianist at the Savoy Hotel in London, subsequently working with an array of established names, including Bruce Adams, Alex Clarke, Dean Masser, David Newton, Mark Nightingale, Dave O’Higgins and Dennis Rollins.
