Who is the Film Composer Patrick Cassidy?

Whilst Hannibal is an astonishing moment in Patrick’s career, he’s a mile off being a one-hit wonder. Originally trained in Applied Mathematics at the University of Limerick (where he was later awarded the prestigious University of Limerick Medal of Honour), his unique analytical background has fuelled a brilliant, unconventional approach to musical storytelling and orchestration.

🎼 The Mind Behind “Vide Cor Meum” Patrick is the creator of “Vide Cor Meum”, one of the most celebrated and recognizable pieces of modern classical music. Originally written as an aria for Ridley Scott’s thriller Hannibal, the piece has since been performed live at both the Oscars and the Emmys and accumulated millions of streams worldwide.  It earned him the distinction of being the only living composer featured on Warner Classics’ elite 40 Most Beautiful Arias collection.

🏆 Knighted for International Artistic Impact In recognition of his massive global contributions to classical music and Italian culture (specifically through his operatic adaptations of Dante Alighieri), the President of Italy bestowed upon him the title of Cavaliere dell’Ordine della Stella d’Italia (Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy).
